Offers orientation sessionThe beginning of each day a brief orientation is provided on the bus while we travel to our first location.

Have not, however if Penn State is involved this year we will have them complete an action plan at the end of the session.

No requirements, we only ask that they are some form of an educator.
Application processFirst come first served basis, we do have limited seating on the bus.

K-12 educators, counselors, and job trainers, as well as post secondary educators, counselors and out of school youth practitioners are all welcome.

Multiple industry clusters presentYes, we focus on STEM industries and try to provide a wide range of businesses represented from all of our priority industry clusters.

The participants receive handouts, and sample worksheets from the employers and use them within their classroom ranging from elementary - post secondary.
Collaboration with intermediaries
(e.g. CareerLinks; IUs)
Each day begins and ends at the CareerLink where tours are provided to introduce or reintroduce them to the services at the CareerLink. Each of the businesses provides approximately one hour at their facility donating staff time, resources and materials. Some of the employers, who host the participants during lunch, provide lunch at no cost to the RCEP or the participants. Also the Act 48 in the past have been provided at no cost from the Lancaster Career and Technology Center.
Program aligned to the Career Education and Work StandardsYes, the program is aligned to the Career Ed standards specifically to the 'exploration' piece, however, while visiting each site, the educators learn what internships, mentoring programs and job shadowing opportunities are available for the students at the job sites, which hits several other of the standards.
Discipline

STEM focused. Last year and this year the Industry tours are focused on science, technology, engineering and math industries and the many occupations within STEM.
Pre-work/post-work materials requiredWe ask that the participants participant in the full day program, and do not provide the Act 48 until the last tour is completed at the end of the day and the participants must be present to sign off on the attendance sheet.
